Artist's Note

The work "Drawing on Crumpled Paper" connects the philosophy of alienation and loss in Haruki Murakami's "The Age of Loss" with the absence of modern emotions, and draws serious consideration of this state through art. The crumpled paper and the drawing on it are work to remind us of the aesthetics of emotions and the need for communication, inducing deep thoughts about the importance of emotions in modern society. Through the act of unfolding the paper expressed in the work flat again, I would like to symbolically present how the beauty of beauty can be found despite the feelings of alienation and absence. The crumpled traces of the paper and the beauty of the re-opened resonate with Haruki Murakami's philosophy about the absence and loss of contemporary emotions, reminding us of the importance of emotions. It is expressed in simple shapes and lines through a drawing composition that seems to be drawn by a child. This captures emotion in the physical properties of the crumpled paper and drawing, and represents the desire to find new expressions through art or creativity in the absence of emotions.
